How we decide
Our job is to make one decision easier, not to make every product sound exciting.
What we weigh
For phones and tablets we look at street price against launch price, the exact model and region being sold, condition, seller, warranty, how many years of software updates remain, battery and charging behaviour, camera trade-offs, sustained performance, repair prospects and the credible cheaper alternative. For chargers, cables, power banks and earbuds we look at published standards, real delivered power, port behaviour when every port is loaded, safety certification, capacity claims, comfort and price per useful feature.
Where the information comes from
Specifications come from manufacturer documentation, certification databases and standards bodies wherever a primary source exists. Anything we cannot verify is described as unverified. We do not copy retailer marketing claims into a recommendation and present them as findings, and we do not describe a product as tested unless a member of the team used it.
How the match engine works
The engine turns your category, budget, priorities and compatibility answer into a query against guides we have tagged by hand. The match percentage tells you how closely a guide fits what you asked for. It is a navigation aid, not a lab score.
When we are wrong
Prices, listings and availability change constantly. Material errors get corrected quickly and significant updates change the article date. Report anything that looks wrong through the contact page.
