Our method
How a TechBoilers recommendation is made, in plain terms.
What we look at
Phones and tablets: current street price against launch price, the exact model and region on sale, condition, seller, warranty, how many years of software updates are left, battery and charging, camera trade-offs, sustained performance and the cheaper option that would also do the job.
Chargers, cables, power banks and earbuds: published standards, real delivered power, how ports behave when all of them are in use, safety certification, capacity claims, comfort and price per useful feature.
Where our information comes from
Specifications come from manufacturer documentation, certification databases and standards bodies wherever a primary source exists. Anything we cannot verify is labelled unverified. We do not repeat retailer marketing as fact, and we do not call a product tested unless we used it.
How the match engine works
Your category, budget, priorities and compatibility answer are matched against guides we tag by hand. The match percentage shows how closely a guide fits your answers. It helps you navigate our guides. It is not a product test score.
When we get it wrong
Prices, listings and stock change constantly. We correct factual errors quickly, and significant updates change the article date. Report anything that looks wrong on the contact page.
