How TechBoilers decides which robot fits your property, and what we will not do for money.

Compatibility comes before ranking

Every recommendation starts by removing products, not promoting them. A robot is eliminated when it fails a non-negotiable condition: a mower whose published slope limit is below your steepest bank, a pool robot that does not list your pool surface, a vacuum that cannot climb your thresholds, a litter box rated below your cat’s weight, or a product that is not sold in your country. We show you how many products were eliminated and why.

How the fit score is calculated

Surviving products are scored against weighted groups: property and task fit, navigation and environment, working capability, ownership burden, warranty and parts availability, total cost of ownership, and privacy. Weights differ by category, because slope matters more for a mower than for a litter box. The score is arithmetic on published specifications. It is not a rating we assign by hand and it is not influenced by commission.

Where specifications come from

Every value carries a source and a verification date, shown on the product page: manufacturer verified, retailer verified, independently verified, owner reported, or not confirmed. Owner reports are never presented as manufacturer specifications. Where a value is missing we say so rather than guessing, and a missing value never counts as a pass.

What money cannot buy

Brands can pay for clearly labelled placement in deals, newsletters and launch pages. They cannot pay to change a compatibility result, a fit score, a disqualification, a published specification or which product appears as the best match. Affiliate commission rates are not an input to any calculation.

What we do not do

We do not claim to have tested robots we have not tested. We do not generate specifications with software. We do not publish invented reviews. Automated tools help us read manuals, convert units, spot contradictions between sources and find duplicate regional models; they do not decide compatibility and they do not write specifications.

Measurements you enter

Results depend on the numbers you give us. Lawn areas, slopes, pool dimensions and threshold heights should be checked before you buy, especially near a product’s published limit. When a robot only just clears your requirement, we say so on the result.

Corrections

Manufacturers and readers can report an incorrect specification through the contact page. Include the model, the field and a source. Corrections change the verification date on the product page.
