In the foldable phone market, it’s not just about what’s inside—it’s about how thin you can make the outside. And Honor, with its latest release, the Magic V3, has taken that challenge to heart, quite literally. But Honor didn’t just break records with its ultra-slim design; it also broke out the humor to mock a certain South Korean tech giant. Yes, we’re talking about Samsung.

Honor’s New Magic Trick: Shattering the Thickness Record

The Magic V3 isn’t just thin—it’s ridiculously thin. Honor had already impressed the tech world with the Magic V2, which was just 9.9mm thick. But clearly, that wasn’t thin enough. Now, with the Magic V3, Honor has shaved that down even further to a jaw-dropping 9.2mm when folded.

This remarkable feat of engineering has firmly positioned Honor as the leader in the foldable phone market, leaving its competitors—specifically Samsung—scrambling to catch up. But Honor wasn’t content with just winning the race; they decided to rub it in a little too.

Engraving an Apology (Or Is It a Mockery?)

Honor didn’t just stop at making the world’s thinnest foldable phone; they decided to add a tiny, yet hilarious, insult to injury. In a move that could only be described as delightfully petty, Honor enlisted renowned micro-artist Graham Short to engrave a 166-word “apology” onto the Magic V3. And who’s this apology addressed to? None other than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold owners.

Honor Mocks Samsung

Now, when we say “tiny,” we mean microscopic. Each letter of this snarky apology is only 100 microns tall—about the thickness of a human hair. You’d need a microscope to read it, but fortunately, you won’t have to squint too hard because we’ve got the text right here:

“Dear Samsung Galaxy Z Fold owners, we’re sorry. We know you were excited to buy a phone that folds in half and fits in your pocket, awkwardly. You were promised the future, a technical marvel, a world of boundless multitasking and performance. And now, you’re probably looking at the new HONOR Magic V3 and feeling a little… betrayed. Size matters, and we feel your pain. Like being tipped for a gold medal and then coming last in the race, the knowledge that a thinner, lighter, and more durable foldable exists is enough to make anyone question their choices. We get it. You were an early adopter, a pioneer bravely venturing into the uncharted territory of foldable screens with questionable durability. You deserve better. In fact, you deserve a gold medal. In all seriousness, we at HONOR are committed to pushing the boundaries of technology and bringing you the best possible foldable experience. We’re just saying… it’s okay to feel let down. We’d feel the same way.

Marketing Masterstroke or Just a Good Laugh?

Graham Short, who spent 90 hours meticulously etching the message using diamond-tipped tools said the job was one of the most challenging of his career. But the result? A foldable phone that not only folds better but also delivers a folded note that’ll leave Samsung blushing.

As the Magic V3 prepares to hit the European market, it’s clear that Honor isn’t just making waves in tech circles—they’re making a splash, complete with a side of humor that’s as sharp as their phone is thin. So, Samsung, the ball’s in your court—though we suspect it might be a bit too thick to roll as smoothly as Honor’s.
