After announcing the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 series, the company has now unveiled its budget-friendly Redmi Buds 5 TWS headphones. These headphones offer some flagship-grade features, making them a significant upgrade from the previous generation.

Design of the Redmi Buds 5

The design of the Redmi Buds 5 takes a few hints from its predecessor, the Redmi Buds 4. It features an in-ear design with a polished stem. The charging box has also been made sleeker than before. The Redmi Buds 5 are available in three colors: Grey, Purple, and Green. In addition, there is a camouflage variant made in collaboration with AAPE, a clothing company.

Noise Cancellation

You can adjust the 46 dB noise cancellation, which is the most outstanding feature of the new Redmi Buds 5, according to your preference. The software allows you to choose between three noise-canceling modes and three transparency modes when you need to hear the outside sound. The noise cancellation feature works for calls as well. Xiaomi markets a new AI-powered algorithm that aids the two noise-cancelling microphones.

Audio Quality

Audio quality has also been enhanced in the Redmi Buds 5. The headphones feature a long precision-wound coil and 12.4mm drivers with titanium-coated diaphragms.

Battery Life

Battery life is another impressive feature of the Redmi Buds 5. With the charging case, the pair can provide up to 40 hours of playtime. Additionally, a fast charging solution allows you to listen for two hours with just five minutes of charging.

Availability and Pricing

We expect the Redmi Buds 5 to be available outside of China as well, although Xiaomi primarily intended this announcement for the Chinese market. The standard edition is priced at CNY 199 ($27), while the camouflage variant costs CNY 299 ($40).
