Xiaomi Redmi A2, A2+: The Power Duo Arrives in India!

In India, the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ made their debut today. Sales on the official site start on the 23rd of May 2023 by 12 pm, let us take a look at the specs this new smartphone brings to the market.

The A2 has a 6.52″ HD+ scratch-resistant display and a 1600×720 resolution, 120Hz touch sampling rate. For the design and build it weighs 192g and is equipped with a “smudge-proof” leather back design.

The non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery and 10W wired power supply power the smartphone. The phone’s operating system, Android 12 (Go edition) with MIUI, ensures a lag-free performance. Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) is supported.

Rear cameras have 8MP wide-angle and 0.08MP depth sensor lenses and take videos at 1080p at 30fps. While on the front it is a 5MP sensor. Nothing new or exciting here in the camera section. With an accelerometer sensor, Type-C USB, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, and Bluetooth 5.0, 4G, the Xiaomi Redmi A2 has all the modern conveniences.

The MediaTek Helio G36, a 12nm SOC with 2GB/4GB RAM and a 32GB/64GB ROM capacity, powers the A2. The Redmi A2 has a 2+1 card slot that’s expandable to 512GB

Redmi A2+

The Redmi A2+ has a 6.52″ HD+ scratch-resistant display and a 1600×720 resolution, 120Hz touch sampling rate same as the A2. The design and construction weigh 192g and have a “smudge-proof” leather back design.

Coming to the battery nothing changed here also. Power for the smartphone comes from a 10W power source and a 5000mAh battery. With Android 12 (Go edition) with MIUI, the phone performs smoothly without lag. Support is provided for dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by).

The rear cameras record films in 1080p at 30 frames per second with 8MP wide-angle and 0.08MP depth sensor lenses. The front of the device has a 5MP sensor same as the A2. The connection is the same on both the A2 and A2+ with an accelerometer sensor, Type-C USB, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G, and a fingerprint sensor at the rear.

The MediaTek Helio G36, 12nm SOC, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of internal storage stay included with the A2. A 2+1 card slot on the A2 allows for 512GB of storage expansion.

The only difference between the A2 and A2+ is the fingerprint which is only on the A2+. When sales start, the actual pricing of both phones will come to light.
