Carl Pei the CEO of Nothing has confirmed that Nothing Phone 2 will run on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 technology. This is an upgrade to the Nothing Phone 1 powered by a Snapdragon 778G+.
Carl Pei talked about the performance boost of Nothing Phone 2 compared to the previous Nothing Phone 1. Nothing Phone 2 will be 2x faster also with a remarkable 80% increase in total performance. When choosing a Snapdragon 8 Series over a 7 Series, several enhancements are made, including those to the camera, network connectivity, and battery life. As speed is important for a well-rounded and premium phone.
The camera was also mentioned as it is an 18-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP) with 4,000 times the camera data-gathering capacity of the ISP utilized in the Nothing Phone 1. The Nothing Phone 2 camera now has cutting-edge capabilities including Raw HDR and 4K shooting at 60 frames per second. All these are made possible by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
He also talked about the decision to go with a Snapdragon 8+ chip saying “We chose the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for a reason. Manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm process, it’s best-in-class when it comes to power consumption and heat management. No debate here”. He further explained that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 has passed through a series of tests and undergone countless updates. He also said “Sometimes the latest technology comes at a cost which isn’t always justified from a user benefit standpoint. Choosing Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 ensures that Phone (2) remains accessible while delivering a significantly improved experience compared to Phone (1).” We are looking forward to the big reveal of the Nothing Phone 2.

The Nothing Phone 1 is still a great smartphone with a good performance today. powered with a Snapdragon 778G+. Which still gets the Job done. The device is available in either 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM, 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM, or 12GB RAM with 256GB ROM.
