There have been literally hundreds of stories where employees are using AI like ChatGPT or Google Bard to help them with their work. Many people are using AI in such a way that they are doing 2 jobs at once where AI is doing most of their work.

But Samsung has started to ban the use of AI like ChatGPT & Google Bard. Due to some internal reasons Samsung Bans ChatGPT & Google Bard from work premises. Here is why,

Samsung Bans ChatGPT & Google Bard

In a recent report, Samsung issued a memo for their employees restricting or rather banning the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT. The main reason for Samsung to ban AI is that there had been a data leak by AI.

Samsung Bans ChatGPT

Some Samsung engineers uploaded a source code to ChatGPT causing the code to get leaked in April.

Moreover, now AI tools are completely banned to be used on any hardware device, phone, laptop, tablet, or anything in between.

“We ask that you diligently adhere to our security guidelines and failure to do so may result in a breach or compromise of company information resulting in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment,”

Samsung wrote in the memo.

ChatGPT Leaks Data?

Not necessarily, it is mentioned that AI like ChatGPT learns from every input that is being done on the AI. ChatGPT gets trained by all the questions that are being asked. So it would be stupid to actually upload any sensitive information to AI.

To counter this problem, OpenAI has come up with an incognito mode for ChatGPT.

Furthermore, it is also being said that OpenAI is working for a business subscription so that businesses would have more control over the AI and will be comfortable with its use.

However, Samsung is not the only company to oppose AI use. Many other banks and institutes have banned the use of AI tools for fear that sensitive information might get leaked.
