Apple is going to launch new models of the MacBook Air soon. The laptop will be announced at WWDC but then released later. However, here is all the information regarding the New MacBook Air.

13.3″ MacBook Air

The 13.3″ MacBook Air is going to get design changes, some new colors, and most importantly an OLED display. The display is being made by Samsung as always. Being OLED, we can expect that the price of the laptop will see a slight increase.

We also expect that there will be a performance bump due to it having the new M2 chipset. The viewing angles will greatly be improved and the battery timings will be also improved thanks to the OLED technology.

While this new report doesn’t go on to predict a timeline, previous leaks on the device have. Earlier in the year, reputable leaker Ming-Chi Kuo explained that Apple plans to ship the new OLED MacBook Air by the end of 2024.

Compared to mini-LED, laptops that use OLEDs have the advantage of being thinner and lighter and offering more diverse form factor design options, like folding, so it has caused Apple to plan to ship the OLED MacBook by the end of 2024 at the earliest.

Since OLED panels emit light themselves, the end result will be a brighter, more color-accurate display on the MacBook Air.

Samsung making the OLED for the New MacBook Air

Yes, while sometime back, LG used to make displays for Apple, now Samsung is making them. It is reported that LG might be making displays for the iPads but the news isn’t confirmed.

iPad is also getting OLED

Other than the 13.3″ Macbook Air, the iPad Pro is also getting an OLED display. This year onwards, we can expect that Apple will only use OLED displays on the Top of the line products, so we can say goodbye to MiniLed.
