ASUS ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate have been announced officially. The devices are mostly similar with some ‘Ultimate‘ features added in the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate edition. ASUS has knocked it out of the park with the latest Phone 7 series. They have introduced ray tracing on their devices which will enable gamers to have the most enhanced and detailed gaming experiences they can get on a smartphone device.
ASUS ROG Phone 7 Series Specifications
Both devices have the same core specifications. We’ll come to the added features in the Ultimate edition later. Firstly, the devices are powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen2. Moreover, the display is a 6.78″ FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a whopping 165Hz refresh rate. The panel also has Gorilla Glass Victus protection. ASUS has used LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage in the devices. The regular ROG Phone 7 weighs 239 grams while the Ultimate edition weighs 246 grams.
Furthermore, there is a 6000 mAh cell that can be charged via a USB-C port at 65 watts. Moving on to the camera system, the devices have a triple-camera setup at the rear which comprises a main 50MP sensor. In addition, the other two sensors have a resolution of 13MP and 5MP respectively. The front selfie shooter is a 32MP Omnivision lens. The devices also retain the iconic AirTrigger ultrasonic shoulder controls. You will be able to map gestures like Dual Action, Press and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming. There is also an X-axis linear motor for a tight haptic experience while gaming.
Moreover, you will also be able to use your wired gaming headphones via the built-in 3.5mm headphone jack. In case your cola spills while heated sessions of gaming, the devices are also IP54 rated for splash resistance.
Enhanced Gaming on ROG Phone 7 Series
ASUS has integrated its GameCool 7 cooling system. It consists of dual graphite sheets which enhance the thermal dissipation by 10% in terms of efficiency. Moreover, there is a separate Boron Nitride layer alongside a rapid-cycle vapor chamber. With the new chip from Snapdragon combined, you will be able to get 15% better efficiency out of the ROG 7 devices. In addition, the speakers on the device bring 2.1 audio with stronger bass.
ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate
The major difference between the standard ROG Phone 7 and the Ultimate Edition is the all-new AeroActive portal, which will allow the built-in vapor chamber to take in the air directly from the surroundings. Furthermore, this one also has the legendary customizable ROG Vision display at the rear of the device.
Furthermore, inside the ROG Phone 7’s box, you will get the new AeroActive Cooler 7. This new AeroActive Cooler 7 will combine with the AeroActive portal to make gaming a cool breeze on the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. Lastly, the AeroActive Cooler 7 also has an in-built 5-magnet super linear subwoofer with a 13x38mm speaker.
