Like me, many of you might like the centred look of the Windows 11 taskbar. The Taskbar looks very clean and well-maintained.
But, most of you might not have a PC compatible with running Windows 11 as an operating system. So if you want the centred Windows 11 Taskbar without the hassle of changing the whole OS, here is a complete guide on How to get Windows 11 Taskbar On Windows 10.
Windows 11 Taskbar
Before getting started let’s analyze what we are looking for.
So Windows 11 has a very simple taskbar with all the icons centred. At the same time, we may not be able to copy the whole start menu dock thing. We will make sure your PC looks like it is running Windows 11 at least when viewed from the desktop.
What We Need
- You will need a PC or Laptop (Obviously)
- You should have an active internet connection
Let’s Get Started
First of all, we will need to get rid of the start button, as you can’t move the start button anywhere.
Step 1 – Removing the start button
- To do that, we will need to download an application called
“ClassicShell” - After downloading and installing, you need to do as done in the picture below.
- Then, you will need to select the “Custom Icon” option and select any transparent image.
- Now the start button and icon will be gone, you can still trigger the start menu from the windows key on your keyboard.
Step 2 – Getting the New Start Button
- Now, you will need to open the notepad and copy the following into there,”set wShell=wscript.createobject(“wscript.shell”) wShell.sendkeys “^{ESC}“
- After pasting the command save the file anywhere except the “C” drive. It should look like this;
- After saving, go to the file’s location, hold shift and right-click over the file and select the option “Copy Path”
- Now come back to the desktop, right-click, & create a new shortcut.
- In the appeared dialogue box, right-click and paste.
- Before clicking next, add the following word in front of the location as shown in the image.
- Now Click Next
- Type “Start” as your name and click save.
- Your shortcut is created.
Step 3 – Getting the Windows 11 Start Icon
- Now, you have a shortcut on the desktop, but it looks weird. Let’s fix that.
- Download any PNG image you want to save as the start menu icon, in this case, the Windows 11 Start icon image.
- Now convert the .png file to an icon through any website. (You can find loads on Google)
- Save the icon.
- Come to your shortcut and right-click on it.
- go to properties, & change the icon
- Click the upload icon and browse to where you saved the file.
- Voila, you have yourself a working start button that looks like Windows 11 icon.
Step 4 – Getting the Start Button in the Taskbar
This is very simple,
- Right-Click on the shortcut
- Click “pin to the taskbar”, and move it to the very left
- You are Done.
Step 5 – Centering the Taskbar Icons
To centre the icons you will need to download & install an app called “Taskbar X”
Download & install the application
After installing the application, you will have amazing control over your taskbar, you can customise it in every way possible. However, to get the Windows 11 Taskbar, you will need to do the following,
Go to the positions tab, and make every value you see a “0” as shown in the image.
Then click apply and exit.
Also, make sure that “TaskbarX” can start on startup when the windows start.
There you have it. Now, your Taskbar buttons are in the centre and your start button is also in the centre. This is how you can achieve the Windows 11 Taskbar in Windows 10.
