It has been quite some time since Sony launched the PS5. The console has been widely popular and successful and is still out of stock in some places. The console has gained so much popularity that it still blows rivals out of the water.
However, Sony is preparing for some New Playstation 5 models with some minor and major changes,
New PlayStation 5 Models
Yes, it is that time when Sony usually comes up with some “upgraded” models for the consoles, as the previous PS5 is already hard to get, Sony is preparing for some new models.
PlayStation 5 Pro
The New PlayStation 5 Pro is much leaked and expected. It is said that the upgraded model will be out next year. The Pro model will have many hardware upgrades like a faster CPU, stronger GPU and more primary storage. The PS5 Pro is said to still have the disk slot as there will not be any “Digital Only” Pro model.
It is worth mentioning that a new patent recently released by PlayStation Chief Architect Mark Cerney suggests that SIE is looking for ways to improve the light-tracing performance in its games.
The New PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to have some design changes as well. It will be heavier as well as thicker and taller. So overall a bigger console. While Sony has done an amazing job at keeping their console design a secret there are no leaks yet.
PlayStation 5 with Detachable Optical Drive
There have been a few leaks and rumours here and there regarding a new PS5 with a detachable optical drive. It is said that this new “Unnamed” model will be launched this September replacing the vanilla PS5.
There are speculations that this model might be called the PS5 Slim edition. However, major details are still unclear.
Sony Hiring New People
It was also discovered that Sony has updated the PlayStation job listings, and they are looking for a new project manager worldwide. This further confirms that new hardware is in the works and might launch soon.
