The Huawei P60 series has been officially unveiled. People might think the Chinese brand is dead. However, the brand continues to come up with some outstanding products with unique features. It’s a shame that these products won’t make their way to the global market. Three devices have been launched in the P60 lineup. There is the base P60 which is accompanied by the P60 Pro and P60 Art.
Specifications
All three devices are powered by the 4G version of the highly-capable Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. Moreover, all three devices sport the same display. All have a 6.67″ LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate will vary from 1Hz to 120Hz to conserve battery life. In addition, Huawei has implemented its protection called the Kunlun glass. Huawei has also integrated the World’s first technology in the P60 series, satellite messaging. You can text anyone via satellite and receive texts as well. However, this feature is limited to only China.
The P60 and P60 Pro come with 4815 mAh battery cells. The standard model comes with 66W fast charging however, the Pro variant comes with 88W charging speed support. P60 Art packs a silicon-carbon 5100 mAh cell. In addition, all three models come with 50W fast wireless charging as well. The software on all three devices is Huawei’s own Harmony OS 3.1. Huawei P60 and P60 Pro come in Feather Purple, Feather Black, Emerald, and a Rococo White option. While the P60 Art comes in Blue Sea and Quicksand Gold colors.
Camera Specifications
The Huawei P60 series is focused on providing a world-class camera experience. On paper, this may be one of the best camera systems on a phone. Firstly, the main camera is a 48MP RYYB sensor with OIS. It is the same on all three phones. This sensor also enables scene-based aperture switching between f/1.4-f/4.0. Huawei claims that this sensor has industry-leading light-capturing P60 Pro starts at CNY 6,988 ($1,023) capabilities.
Moving on, the vanilla P60 has a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Lastly, it has a 12MP telephoto sensor with an f/3.4 aperture. P60 Pro has the same ultra-wide sensor but the P60 Art has a 40MP ultra-wide lens. Both the Pro and Art devices pack a 48MP 3.5x optical telephoto lens which can digitally zoom up to 100x. It also has three-axis stabilization and industry-leading light-capturing abilities. This is not where the camera magic ends.
Furthermore, Huawei has added an XD Fusion Pro texture engine which will enable the objects’ textures to be portrayed as close to the human eye perception as possible.
Pricing
Huawei P60 starts at CNY 4,488 ($657), P60 Pro at CNY 6,988 ($1,023) and lastly, the P60 Art starts at CNY 8,988 ($1,316).
