Apple has been gradually slimming down bezels on its iPhones over the years, with the latest iPhone 14 series featuring an almost all-screen display. However, rumors suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will take this a step further with the thinnest smartphone bezels ever seen. Here’s what we know about this upcoming device.
According to Ice Universe, a well-known tipster with a reputation for ultra-thin bezels, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will have impressively thin bezels measuring only 1.55mm. This is a significant reduction from the current iPhone 14 Pro Max’s 2.17mm borders and would set a new record for the thinnest bezels on a smartphone, currently held by the Xiaomi 13 with 1.81mm bezels. In comparison, the Galaxy 22 and S23 have bezels that measure around 1.95mm.
Thinner Bezels, Better Experience?
While the upcoming iPhone’s ultra-thin bezels may seem like a small upgrade, it’s a matter of personal preference. Some users may argue that the current iPhone models already have slim-enough borders, and a further reduction may not significantly improve the user experience. However, for those who value aesthetics and an almost all-screen display, the next premium iPhone could be a game-changer.
Dynamic Island Design and Punch Hole
The next Apple flagship will continue to use the Dynamic Island design with a centered pill-shaped punch hole, according to recently leaked renders. This design may also make its way to the smaller iPhone 15 Pro, as well as the vanilla iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. However, the latter two may lack ProMotion and AOD features.
The Pro Max variant of iPhone 15 featuring ultra-thin bezels could make it one of the most visually stunning smartphones on the market. While the upgrade may not be a game-changer for everyone, those who appreciate an almost all-screen display may find it worth the investment. Stay tuned for more updates on the iPhone 15 Pro Max as they become available.
