POCO X5 Pro AnTuTu Score: Might Change Your Decision

Recently, I made a video on POCO X5 series leaked specifications stating that it may be a poor choice to go for Snapdragon 600 series on the vanilla POCO X5 model. And I wasn’t much happy about the Snapdragon 778G on the POCO X5 Pro, since the POCO X3 Pro utilized a Snapdragon 800-series processor, which made the phone stand out from the rest. However, now the company has revealed POCO X5 Pro’s AnTuTu benchmark, and it has changed my mind.

In a recent tweet, Poco India confirmed that the X5 Pro 5G would come with the Snapdragon 778G chipset and a 108MP primary camera, as well as a 120Hz Xfinity AMOLED display. The company also shared the AnTuTu score of the X5 Pro 5G, which was 545,093 points, and compared it to other devices with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080 chip. This comparison shows that the real performance gap is only around 7%, which may not be significant in real-world use.

Tipster Paras Guglani has revealed that the pricing of the Poco X5 Pro 5G with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage may be ₹24,999. If true, this would make the X5 Pro 5G one of the most affordable and value-for-money devices in the mid-range market, as well as the cheapest smartphone with the Snapdragon 778G processor. The first sale of the X5 Pro 5G is expected to start on February 11th, after the launch and price reveal on February 6th. Stay tuned for more updates on the X5 series.

Poor chipset on the vanilla POCO X5

However, on the contrary, I did not like the decision of the Snapdragon 695 on the vanilla model. I stand by my point stating POCO X5 should have used at least a higher-end chip because POCO’s main audience is youth and using a high-end gaming-focused chip would make the unique but POCO is keen on rebranding Xiaomi phones.
