Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro have been announced by the Chinese Tech giants in an event held today in China. The devices come with new designs and the latest premium features. These devices have been launched only in the Chinese market for now. However, the global release won’t be far from now. Moreover, these are the first devices will be the first to receive the latest MIUI 14.

The Xiaomi 13 is the base variant. It comes with a 6.36″ E6 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the display is a bright one at 1900 nits of peak brightness. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2. It is coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage. The device packs a 4500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging as well.

Xiaomi has changed the design a bit as well. The frame is flat and the display is also flat this time. Furthermore, the device weighs 185 grams and measures 8.1mm thick. Moving on, the device has a triple-camera setup at the rear. It is spearheaded by a 50MP main lens accompanied by a 12MP and a 10MP sensor. In addition, the front selfie shooter is a 32MP sensor.

The 13 Pro is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2. It has a 6.73″ 2K E6 AMOLED LTPO display with h 120Hz refresh rate. Brightness is the same as the standard model at 1900 nits. the device weighs 210 grams and measures 8.7mm thick. Furthermore, the device packs a 4820 mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Xiaomi 13 Pro has a triple-rear camera setup with a 50MP main lens. The other two sensors are two 50MP lenses. In addition, the front camera is a 32MP sensor. Lastly, both devices are IP68 water and dust-resistant and have WiFi 6 support as well.

The designs of the Xiaomi 13 series are a downgrade from last year in my opinion. However, the flat display and symmetrical bezels are a welcome change. I term these designs as a downgrade because last year’s devices looked more professional and gave an executive feel. The camera bump was designed a lot better. However, still, these devices are highly-specced with premium features. With fast charging, high performance, flagship-grade cameras, and smooth 120Hz displays, both devices have all the top-end ingredients. Let us know your thoughts about the design changes and overall specifications of these devices.
