Redmi Note 12 Series will be launching earlier than we would have thought. The Note 11 series launched at the start of the year globally. The GM of the Redmi brand stated that the Note series will be now refreshed earlier than the previous cycle. Moreover, the devices were stated to be more performance-focused. There will be three devices launching on the 27th of October in China. Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ will be the three devices. Furthermore, the global market will have to wait for the Redmi Note 12 series.

The posters reveal that there will be subtle changes to the camera module. Moreover, the device will have a flat frame. The material used in the devices is not yet leaked.

Expected Specifications

The devices are expected to debut MediaTek’s new chipset, the Dimensity 1080. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Note 12 Pro will feature the 50MP IMX766 sensor. Another thing that is heavily rumored is the charging speeds. The base variant will have a 67W charging speed. Moreover, the Pro will have 120W charging. Lastly, the Pro+ will have whopping 210W fast charging. Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will also have a 200MP main camera and a curved AMOLED screen as well.

Thoughts On The Early Upgrade Cycle

Such an early upgrade for a device is frustrating for a consumer. A person who buys a device will feel left out when its successor drops just six months after its release. However, the consumer may have a temptation to upgrade. This is exactly what the brand wants. As a brand, Xiaomi wants to sell more devices and for them this launch cycle is ideal.

However, as a consumer, you want the latest model available. The six-month upgrade cycle may be frustrating but is tempting for sure. If Xiaomi provides meaningful upgrades in the successor, only then their strategy will be successful. Otherwise, the consumer won’t upgrade. What do you think about this launch strategy? Let us know in the comments below.
