Xiaomi 12T Series has been announced during an event held in Munich. Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro have been announced at the event. The T series of Xiaomi flagships usually offers a new design with the same flagship DNA and lower price. Moreover, Xiaomi 12T Pro is the rebranded version of the Redmi K50 Ultra. It becomes the first 200MP phone from Xiaomi. The base 12T also has an enticing set of specifications. Both devices have the traits to be called the ultimate value flagships in the market.
Xiaomi 12T Pro
Xiaomi 12T Pro has a 6.67″ Flat OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it has a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. For cost-cutting purposes, the 12T series has a plastic frame.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro has the World’s 2nd 200MP main camera. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra was the first. The other two sensors are an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro sensor. However, this being a top-end phone, a telephoto would’ve been better. The front camera is a 20MP sensor. Furthermore, the Xiaomi 12T Pro packs a 5000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging. The device also features dual speakers sounded by Harmon Kardon and an IR blaster.
Xiaomi 12T
The base variant of the Xiaomi 12T series has many similarities with the Pro variant. For instance, the device has the same Flat OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it also has the same 5000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The camera system is also the same apart from the main camera.
The 12T has a 108MP main camera instead of the 200MP on the Pro variant. Other sensors are the same. The other difference is the processor used in the device. The 12T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra. Other than these differences, the devices are quite the same. Lastly, both devices will receive 3 Android OS upgrades.
Price
The 12T Pro will start at 749 Euros and the Xiaomi 12T will start at 599 Euros.
Thoughts
The main highlights of the devices are;
- Crisp 120Hz OLED displays
- 120W blazing fast charging speeds
- 200MP main camera on the Pro and 108MP main camera on the base model
- High-end processors
- Premium design and 3 years of Android updates
In my opinion, both devices are aptly priced for what they offer. The things I would’ve included were a telephoto lens at least on the Pro. Moreover, the devices should’ve had metal frames as they would’ve added to the premium feel. Another change I would have liked is a smaller size for the base variant. People wanting a smaller device would get an option as well in this way. However, these are not major caveats. The devices are still great options.
