OnePlus Nord Watch has been in the works for quite some time now. It is a step to further expand the Nord brand by OnePlus. Eventually, creating such a portfolio of products and announcing it as a separate brand. We’ll come to that later. Firstly, let us see what the Nord Watch offers. Previously, OnePlus launched its flagship watch, under the OnePlus Watch moniker. That device didn’t sell well. We’ll see if the Nord Watch does any better.

The watch comes with a 1.78″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 368×448. Moreover, it has a 60Hz refresh rate for a smooth experience. For brightness, it has a 500 nit peak brightness. Furthermore, the watch is also IP68 dust and water-resistant. Therefore, taking the watch to the poolside on a sunny day won’t be an issue.

OnePlus claims that the Nord watch has 10-day battery life. Adding on, it has a 30-day standby time as well. There are 105 sports modes built-in. In addition, there are specific health features for women. You will be able to measure Heart Rate, SpO2, sleep, and monitor stress as well. There are more than 100 watch faces for extensive customization.

Moreover, the device comes with Bluetooth 5.2. You can use the watch for music controls, notifications, and viewing the weather forecast. Lastly, the device is priced at INR 5000. Globally, the watch isn’t available yet.

Now let’s talk about what’s next for Nord by OnePlus.

Nord By OnePlus

Nord is now set to become a sub-brand by OnePlus. Moreover, Nord will now have its branding, stores, and team. Similar to what Realme went through, it will be branded as ‘Nord by OnePlus’ at the start. Furthermore, the Nord brand will remain on the devices. Afterward, the OnePlus branding will be removed. Hence, BBK will have another separate brand under its umbrella.

This was speculated since the day Nord was launched. So this is not surprising at all. As it has happened with Realme by OPPO, POCO by Xiaomi, Redmi by Xiaomi, and iQOO by Vivo. Furthermore, another interesting news is that the software skin will also be different. It will be a skin over Oxygen OS. As it is with the POCO launcher being a skin over MIUI. Let us know what you think about this decision. Are you happy about Nord being separated? Or would it be better to stay as it is?
