Vivo X Fold+ is rumored to launch in September. Earlier this year, the Vivo X Fold was launched. However, the launch was limited to China. I hope this upcoming device launches globally. Only then it will be able to compete with the competition. Folding Phones are becoming the latest trend in the smartphone market.
Recently, a lot of foldable phones have been released. Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, Moto Razr 2022, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Z Fold 4 have been launched recently. They all come with several refinements and new features over their predecessors. Huawei and OPPO are also in this game. Let’s see what Vivo will offer with its new foldable.
Expected Features & Specifications
The Vivo X Fold+ is slated to come with a similar design as the X Fold. Moreover, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. The device will have a 2K resolution 120Hz main display and a 120Hz cover screen as well. Furthermore, the displays will be equipped with LTPO technology. Both displays will have in-display fingerprint scanners. Vivo is the only brand implementing in-display fingerprint scanners on the inner screen as well as on the cover display.
This will be a top-end Vivo phone. Hence, the cameras will also be top-notch in collaboration with Zeiss optics. The device will feature a 50MP main sensor which will be accompanied by a 48MP ultra-wide sensor. Moreover, there will be a 12MP portrait camera with double optical zoom, and an 8MP super-telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. In addition, there will be a 16MP selfie shooter at the front as well. Lastly, there will be a 4700 mAh dual-cell battery. The X Fold+ will feature 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Thoughts
The Vivo X Fold+ seems to be a great device on paper. However, it will only make sense if it launches globally. If it is only launched in China, then it’s nothing more than an experiment. I hope Vivo launches this one globally and gives people an option to choose from. Otherwise, global users only have one option which is the Samsung Galaxy Z fold 4.
