Sony Xperia 5 IV has been launched officially. Sony phones are known to be enthusiast-focused devices. Moreover, cameras are the main selling point of their phones. Their availability and off-target pricing have meant low sales for Sony. Furthermore, their understated marketing is another reason for their unpopularity. However, these devices are surely worth considering if you are looking for an enthusiast phone which excels in photographic prowess.
Design
The Sony Xperia 5 IV is a compact device at only 6.1″. This is the sweet spot in my opinion. Every brand should have a variant of their flagships in this size. Moreover, the rear design is the same iconic Sony design that they have used countless times previously. There is no notch or punch-hole on the front. Rather there is a symmetrical top and bottom bezel. Which looks way better than a phone having a punch-hole or a notch with a chin.
Specifications
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. Moreover, the display is a 120Hz FHD+ HDR OLED panel. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. There is only one configuration available which is 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. Furthermore, the device packs a 5000 mAh battery with 30W charging support. The device also supports 30W wireless charging.
The Xperia 5 IV also has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, the device is IP68 water and dust-resistant and also has WiFi 6 support. The rear camera setup comprises three 12MP sensors. Sony offers 4K 120fps video recording on all three sensors. Moreover, there is a 12MP front selfie shooter as well. There is a Videography Pro feature that lets you live stream your content to YouTube and other streaming services as well. The device weighs 172 grams and measures 8.2mm thick.
Pricing
The device is priced at $999. Moreover, you only get the phone inside the retail package. There is no charger or cable in the retail box.
