Xiaomi 12S Ultra was recently unveiled for the Chinese market. However, it didn’t launch globally. The device itself was received as a direct competitor to the iPhone 13 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, as it won’t launch globally, the threat isn’t realized. This will change with the next Ultra phone from Xiaomi.
Lei Jun has confirmed that their next Ultra device will be catered to the global market. He stated via a Tweet that;

This is great news for consumers. Moreover, it will also spark an element of threat and competition to other brands.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra
The Ultra model is the best Xiaomi phone on paper yet. Also, it is the first to feature the largest camera sensor on any smartphone. It has a 1″ Sony IMX989 sensor which has a resolution of 50.3MP. It also has a 48MP ultra-wide and 48MP telephoto with 120X periscope zoom. Added features include Leica Authentic Look, Leica Vibrant look photographic styles, Leica Vivid, Natural, BW Natural, and BW High Contrast filters.
Moreover, it is the first Xiaomi phone to arrive with the Leica branding. Leica and Xiaomi announced their long-term partnership in May. Both Xiaomi & Leica are big names in the tech and photography industries respectively. Xiaomi is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. Moreover, Leica is a well-reputed name when it comes to photography. Both brands are combining for a revolution in mobile imagery.
Moreover, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. The display is a 6.73″ 2K E5 AMOLED 2.0 display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a peak brightness of 1500 nits. The device packs a 4860 mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. Moreover, it weighs 225g and measures 9.06mm thick. Lastly, the device starts at CNY 5999.
