Realme 9 Launched In Pakistan – Overpriced?

Realme 9 4G has been launched officially in Pakistan. The device had already been launched in India. It is the base model of the Realme 9 series. Moreover, the Realme 9 4G variant is their low-tier midrange device. The BBK-owned brand aims to penetrate the mid-tier market specifically with this device. Specifications and design of Realme 9 4G are similar to Realme 9i launched recently here in Pakistan as well.

Specifications

The Realme 9 4G sports a 6.4″ Super AMOLED panel. Moreover, it has a refresh rate of 90Hz for smooth scrolling. The touch sampling rate is 360Hz. In addition, the device measures 7.9mm thick and weighs 178g. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 680 which is a 6nm-based processor. This is the same chipset used in the Realme 9i, Redmi Note 11, and the Vivo Y55. It will be paired with 6 or 8 gigs of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. Furthermore, the device packs a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

Realme 9 4G will be running Android 12-based Realme UI 2.0. Moving on to the camera system, it is going to have a 108MP main sensor. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro sensor. The front selfie snapper is a 16MP lens. Lastly, the device will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner with a heart rate monitoring feature as well. In addition, it also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Thoughts

The 8GB+128GB variant has been launched at RS. 54,999. The success of the device depended upon the pricing. If the price was kept competitive by Realme, it could’ve been a success. Moreover, in our opinion, a great price would have been anything around PKR 35K. However, the price that the device has been launched at is simply not worth it. It would be better to look for the Realme GT Master Edition. Moreover, even the Realme 9i is a better option.
