The Moto G42 will be available in India starting today, July 12th. After making its rounds in the global market, the smartphone was released in the country on July 4. The phone is intended for customers with low processing requirements who want to use apps like WhatsApp, YouTube, and Chrome. It has 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.

This device comes in two color options: Metallic Rose and Atlantic Green, and it went on sale today at noon Indian time. It costs Rs 13,999 in India for the single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option. However, the company is also offering a bank deal on Flipkart, reducing the price to Rs 12,999. The e-commerce platform will provide an exchange program for used smartphones.

The Moto G42 has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 680Soc processor powers the smartphone with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. An Adreno 610 GPU accompanies the processor.
However, its rear camera system consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. According to Motorola, the 8-megapixel ultrawide camera also functions as a depth sensor. We also get a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front for selfies and video calls.
This device also includes stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C charging port. In terms of charging, the smartphone has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging. It has dimensions of 160.61 x 73.47 x 8.26 mm.
The Moto G42 does not support 5G but does support 4G. It is also made of plastic and has an IP52 rating for dust and water splash protection as a low-cost device.
