Asus Zenfone 9 has been leaked in its entirety. The official promo video was mistakenly posted. Its previous iteration, Zenfone 8 was a great compact choice. It made no compromises while maintaining a compact form factor. Moreover, the successor builds on that and makes necessary improvements as well.
Design is by far the biggest improvement over the predecessor. Last year, the Zenfone 8 had a generic and stale design. It lacked character. However, this time around the design as well as the color options pops out. Two camera modules can be seen at the rear. Moreover, the frame is made out of aluminum. The headphone jack is also present at the top. Furthermore, the front side of the device has reasonable bezels and a punch-hole towards the top-left.
The device will sport a 5.9″ FHD+ 120Hz OLED panel. Asus will be using panels manufactured by Samsung. Therefore, the quality will be top-notch, Moreover, the Zenfone 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. It will be one of the most powerful compact Android phones. In this form factor, a 4300 mAh battery will be packed. Information about the charging speed wasn’t revealed in the recent leaks. However, 33W will be most likely. The device will also be IP68 dust and water-resistant.
Dual stereo speakers will also be featured in the Zenfone 9. Furthermore, the fingerprint sensor will be baked into the power button. Interestingly, the 3.5mm headphone jack stays on the Zenfone 9. The camera setup will be simple yet powerful. The main sensor at the back will be the Sony IMX766 50MP sensor. It will be OIS-enabled and will have a 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilizer as well. The second sensor will most probably be an ultra-wide lens.
Moreover, a flexible CONNEX phone case with a kickstand or card holder was also shown in the promotional video. In addition, a Smart backpack mount will also be launched alongside the device. Overall, it looks like a pretty compelling phone. However, with its compact size and demanding chipset, we hope Asus has worked out heat management.
