iPhone has always been a flag-bearer of luxury and longevity. Apple offers the longest software update cycle on any smartphone. iPhones are also the best of the best in terms of build quality. Therefore, they tend to hold up for much longer. Moreover, iPhones are known to maintain their stability and smoothness for longer periods as well. For example, pick up an iPhone 6S and it will compete with you $200 Android in terms of smoothness.
iPhone XR Found In Working Condition After 10 Months
Owain Davies lost his iPhone in River Wye 10 months ago. Fast forward to 10 months later, he has now been reunited with his phone. That too in working condition. This is astonishing and speaks volumes of the iPhone’s strength of holding up. Another man canoeing in the river, Miguel Pacheco found it earlier this month. He dried it out at home and tried to track down the owner online.
He dried it out with an airline and compressor and placed it in the airing cupboard overnight. His efforts paid off. He plugged in the phone and it turned on. There was a photo of Owain and his partner on the lock screen. The device showed the date on which the phone was drowned. He posted the photos in his local Cinder Noticeboard Facebook group. Surprisingly, they were shared more than 4,000 times.
Eventually, the photos were recognized by Owain’s friend and his partner. He said: “I was in a two-man canoe and my partner probably shouldn’t have stood up, and needless to say we fell in. The phone was in my back pocket and as soon as it was in the water I realized the phone was gone.”
In addition, he was flattered by the impressive effort Mr. Pacheco put in to find the phone’s owner. “My natural reaction would be to hand it in to the nearest pub. It wouldn’t be to use my air compressor to dry it out and dismantle it.”
