OPPO Reno 8 – Pakistan Launch Timeline Is Here!

OPPO Reno 8 series was launched in China in May. Reno 8 is also rumored to launch in Pakistan at the end of July or the start of August. However, the Pro variant may get axed. Both are 5G devices. Taxation and high dollar rates have disrupted the Pakistani market. Consequently, OPPO Reno 7 series didn’t even launch here in Pakistan. Our sources confirm that the current plan is to launch the Reno 8 only in Pakistan. The exact pricing is not yet known. However, with the current economical situation, expect high initial prices from OPPO.

It is a sensible decision from OPPO that only Reno 8 will be launched in Pakistan. Most people tend to invest in Samsung and Apple devices when it comes to higher price segments. Therefore, the Pro model won’t sell well when it comes to around PKR 100K. Even if the Reno 8 launches at around 80-85K, it can be a successful device. It may receive price cuts later in the offline market or online offers, which will make it an even better deal.

OPPO Reno 8  series shares an uncanny resemblance with the OnePlus 10 Pro. The camera module design is similar to the 10 Pro. Moreover, the display design also looks the same with a punch-hole towards the top left. For reference, here is what the OnePlus 10 Pro looks like;

Now, here is the OPPO Reno 8;

OPPO Reno 8 Pro features a 120Hz 6.62″ E4 OLED panel. While the Reno 8 has a 90Hz 6.43″ OLED panel. Both devices have flat displays with punch-hole cutouts for selfie shooters towards the top left. The Pro model is 7.57mm thick and weighs 188g. While the standard Reno 8 measures 7.67mm thick and weighs 179g. Furthermore, the Reno 8 Pro is powered by the all-new Snapdragon 7 Gen1. On the other hand, the standard Reno 8 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300.

Both phones have a 32MP selfie shooter and a 50MP main rear camera. The standard Reno 8 has two 2MP sensors to go with the main sensor, lacking the ultra-wide sensor. However, the Pro model comes with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP sensor to go with the 50MP main lens. Moreover, the Reno 8 series also have the MariSilicon X NPU. Moreover, both devices pack 4500 mAh batteries and support 80W charging speeds. However, the Reno 8 variant launching in Pakistan will most probably support 60W charging. Lastly, the color options for the Pro model are Slightly Drunk, Encounter Blue, and Night Tour Black. Whereas, the standard variant comes in Slightly Drunk, Clear Sky Blue, and Night Tour Black.

The standard OPPO Reno 8 starts at CNY 2499 (PKR 75K) while the Pro model starts at CNY 2999 (PKR 90K).
