WWDC is one of the most anticipated events in the tech world. Apple announces the next iterations of their software for different devices. Moreover, this year’s WWDC was the first after the pandemic where people were physically present at the Apple Park. Apple also announced hardware at the event which is a rarity. iOS 16
iOS 16 Beta 1 has been released by Apple yesterday after the event. They brought some exciting changes to iOS. Firstly, the lock screen has now been overhauled. It is more customizable than ever. You can customize the font, lock screen wallpaper and add widgets as well. Moreover, the notifications now pop from the bottom where the user’s thumb rests.
Another major feature announced was the edit and undo message function in the iMessage app. Furthermore, now you will be able to use Face ID while being in landscape mode. The Home app has also been redesigned. Moreover, enhanced dictation and live text in video with quick actions were also introduced. Other features include next-gen CarPlay, Live Activities, updated Wallet and Apple Pay, personalized spatial audio, and a shared photo library.
iPadOS 16
In addition to all the features of iOS 16, iPadOS also gets a new weather app. Moreover, you can now use 8 apps at once with an external display. Resizable windows and a stage manager were also introduced yesterday. In addition, full external display support was also added to the iPadOS 16. A new freeform app to collaborate on Notepad was also added.
macOS Ventura
The next iteration of macOS brings the new stage manager feature to Macs. Moreover, Safari can now be shared with tab groups. Furthermore, updated Spotlight and Mail also make their way to Macs. Now you can also use your iPhone as a webcam with a continuity camera with a desk view as well.
WatchOS 9

MacBook Pro 13″ Refresh
MacBook Pro 13″ gets a huge upgrade in performance courtesy of the all-new M2 Chip. M2 Chip comes with a 40% faster neural engine. Moreover, it is constructed in a second-gen 5nm process. It also brings 6K external display support. With its 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and 100GB/s memory bandwidth, the M2 chip is a beast.
The updated MacBook Pro comes with the same design. In addition to the M2 chip, it also has 500 nits of peak brightness with its retina display. Moreover, the touch bar is also present. You also get Pro-Res and Studio quality mics.
New MacBook Air
A new MacBook air with four new colors was also unveiled at the WWDC. It is also powered by the M2 chip. Moreover, it has a 13.6″ Liquid Retina display with a notch. It weighs 2.7 pounds and supports fast charging as well. Furthermore, it also has Magsafe and a high impedance headphone jack. Apple quotes 18 hours of battery life from the new MacBook Air.
