Qualcomm officially announced their Snapdragon event which will is on the 20th of May. This is a night themed event, as they invite all to witness new products, new experiences and new collaborations.
The next Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will feature ARM Cortex A710 and Cortex A510 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 1.8GHz, respectively, according to rumours and leaks. It will also be equipped with an Adreno 662 GPU.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, on the other hand, is an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, as the name suggests. It is constructed using TSMC’s 4nm process rather than Samsung’s 4nm process.
According to previous reports, the chipset will have a 1 + 3 + 4 core design, with a Cortex X2 prime core running at 2.99GHz. Three Cortex A710 cores and four Cortex A510 cores are also believed to be included. Samsung’s future foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, as well as this year’s OSOM OV1, the privacy-focused phone from the team behind Essential, is slated to employ the latest technology.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, the first mid-range chip to receive Qualcomm’s rebranding, is another likely surprise at this week’s presentation. Oppo is anticipated to release the chip in the near future.
