Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has launched in Pakistan in a virtual event. Moreover, they have roped in superstar actress, Sajal Aly, for the promotion of this highly anticipated phone. The 9 Pro+ 5G brings improvements over its predecessor, 8 Pro. However, is it worth your money? Let’s find out.
Design
The design is very similar to other members of the 9 series. One of the major differences you will notice at first glance is the OIS branding at the back. Moreover, the front display has minimal bezels at the top and the sides. However, you will see a noticeable chin at the bottom. There is a power button on the right side of the phone and volume rockers on the left side. Moreover, there is a small hole cut out for the selfie shooter at the front. On the back, the device has a triple-camera setup. In addition, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner that doubles as a heart rate monitor. All three color options in Pakistan are available for pre-orders – Aurora Green, Midnight Black, and Sunrise Blue.
Specifications
The Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G SoC. It comes in an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. You will be able to expand RAM up to 13GB. Furthermore, the display is a 6.43″ OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The triple rear-camera setup at the back features a 50MP main custom Sony IMX766 sensor which is OIS enabled. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro sensor. In addition, the selfie shooter is a 16MP lens housed in a punch-hole at the front. Lastly, the phone features a 4500 mAh battery with 60W fast charging support.
Pricing
The Realme 9 Pro+ is priced at RS. 69,999 in Pakistan. Only one configuration model is launched in Pakistan. So, you won’t get any options here.
Is It Worth It?
Dimensity 920 is a comparable chipset to the Snapdragon 778G. However, the Snapdragon 778G takes the edge over the Dimensity 920. Realme themselves provides an alternative to the Realme 9 Pro+. The Realme GT Master Edition can be found in the Pakistani market at under 65k PKR. That too for the 8GB+256GB model. That phone is a better buy than the 9 Pro+. It has a 120Hz display, a better processor, and a better value proposition.
Moreover, another alternative is the Samsung Galaxy A52S 5G. The A52S is also available at around 65k PKR. It also has the Snapdragon 778G and a 120Hz display. Moreover, the cameras are also great and the device has received great reviews. Realme should’ve priced the 9 Pro+ a bit lower to compete with these devices. Let us know what you think about the price. Will you pick it up over the GT ME or the A52S 5G?
