Samsung announced the Galaxy S22 series in February. However, only the Galaxy S22 Ultra made its way to Pakistan. Samsung Pakistan has also started manufacturing the device locally. Consequently, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is priced reasonably close to the global pricing. Kudos to Samsung for dishing out made in Pakistan smartphones at a great pace. However, we didn’t see the standard Galaxy S22 and the S22+ in Pakistan.
Where Are S22 and S22+?
Samsung is tipped to launch the Galaxy A53 5G in Pakistan in April. So, will we see the S22 and S22+ in Pakistan? There is no official word on whether we will see these devices in Pakistan. Samsung should’ve launched these devices in Pakistan earlier. However, taxation issues may have caused a delay. Moreover, another reason can be their production plant wasn’t capable enough of producing this many devices at the same time. Therefore, they didn’t want to launch these devices at higher prices. But never say never. Samsung may still launch the Galaxy S22 and S22+.
Galaxy S22
The standard S22 comes with a 6.1″ FHD+ dynamic AMOLED screen. The display supports LTPO technology and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Moreover, the display has a 1300nit peak brightness. In addition, the display and back-plate are flat this time with no curves. The material is glass similar to the other two devices. Gorilla Glass Victus is used in the device. S22 is powered by Exynos 2200/Snapdragon 8Gen1 depending on the region. It comes with an Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner like all models. Moreover, it packs a 3700 mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.
Furthermore, it brings improvements in the camera department. The camera system is the same in the vanilla S22 and S22+. The front selfie camera is a 10MP lens. There is a triple-camera setup that includes a 50MP wide with OIS support. It is accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The telephoto lens also supports OIS. Lastly, it will be available in 4 colors; Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, and Pink Gold. S22 and S22+ will be available in two configurations; 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
Galaxy S22+
The S22+ is a step up in size from the vanilla S22. It houses a 6.6″ FHD+ dynamic AMOLED display. It has the same LTPO technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it has a 1750nit peak brightness. The overall design is the same as the standard S22. It has the same flat edges and minimal bezels. It is also powered by the Exynos 2200/Snapdragon 8Gen1.
The camera system is the same as the vanilla S22. However, there is a difference in battery capacity. It packs a 4500 mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
