Today POCO has decided to launch their POCO M4 Pro 4G in Pakistan. It will be the better version of the vanilla POCO M4. It is a mid-ranger smartphone so naturally, it has a lot of competition, POCO will have to make this device feature-rich with competitive pricing. Let’s see how much the device is an improvement compared to other options.
POCO M4 Pro 4G
The POCO M4 Pro is advertised to be a smartphone that is an “entertainment powerhouse”. This means the device packs a nice display with good battery life. Let’s move on to the specifications to see how the M4 Pro does.
Design & Built
The device has a very simple design with flat edges, a flat display and a matte back. On the back, we see a huge black slab that houses the camera module and the POCO branding. Moreover, POCO M4 Pro weighs in at just 179.5g and is 8.09mm thick. This makes it the lightest POCO smartphone ever.
Specifications
The M4 Pro comes powered by the MediaTek Helio G96, which has a 2.05GHz octa-core CPU and ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. We get 2 options for ram & storage, 6/128 and 8/256.
On the front, we see the 6.43-inch screen that gets a 90Hz 2400 x 1800 FHD+ AMOLED DotDisplay with a 180Hz touch sampling rate. This will be the first time in any POCO M series. With a high refresh rate display, the device will definitely feel a lot smoother than some other competitors in its range.
Moreover, coming to the back of the device. We see a triple camera setup with a 64MP main camera. The secondary is an 8MP 118° wide-angle camera. Finally, we see a 2MP macro to get up close with your subjects. The front camera, however, is a 16MP sensor.
To power, up the device, we see a huge 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
Features
Furthermore, as claimed that the Poco M4 is a feature-rich smartphone, let’s take a look at what features the phone comes with. For the display, the phone gets “Eye Care Display” and “Seamless Display”, so it automatically tunes the colour of the display according to your liking and prevents eye strain if used for prolonged periods of time. Next, we get the RAM expansion technology so that you can expand your RAM and always have a fast smartphone. The device also gets a “LiquidCool” technology which will keep your smartphone cool even after intensive gaming. We also see dual-speakers and Z-axis linear motor for better feedback. Lastly, YouTube’s subscription service, YouTube Premium, will come pre-installed on POCO M4 Pro.
Price & Availability
The POCO M4 Pro 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at PKR 44,999/– available at official retail stores. While the 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at PKR 47,999/- and available exclusively via Mi Store.
Thoughts
The device is no doubt great on paper. Coming with all the amazing features at such a competitive price makes this very easy to recommend. One thing I don’t like is the huge camera slab at the back which could have been minimized to make the device look better.
