Samsung has announced its latest mid-range series. Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33 are the two devices launched. Both devices are very similar with minor differences. Moreover, both devices are 5G capable and come without a charger in the box.
The design of Galaxy A53 was leaked previously. However, those weren’t the official images. Roland Quandt leaked the official marketing material and specifications of the device. The specifications looked promising. Here is what the official specifications are:
Design
Galaxy A53 almost has the same design as the A52. The thickness of the device is roughly 8.1mm and it weighs 189g. This is a bit slimmer than the A52’s thickness. The camera bump extends from the back-plate itself which is made of plastic. Furthermore, the display is a 6.5″ flat OLED panel with rounded corners. The frame is still made of plastic same as last year’s model. The volume rockers and the power button will be on the left side.
While the USB-C port and speakers are at the bottom. Moreover, there is no headphone jack. Galaxy A33 also comes with a similar design. The major difference is the display. The display is a 6.4″ panel with a notch at the front instead of a punch-hole.
Specifications
Exynos 1280 will be debuting with the A53 5G and A33 5G. Furthermore, the display is a 120Hz refresh rate panel on the A53. While the A33 has a 90Hz panel. The Galaxy A53 and A33 pack a 5000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. However, you will not get a power brick in the box. The phones will run on One UI 4 based on Android 12. A53 5G and A33 5G are also IP67 certified.
Moreover, the quad-camera array at the back of A53 has a 64MP main sensor. It is OIS enabled. In addition to the main sensor, the phone also has an ultra-wide, macro, and depth sensor. The ultra-wide is a 12MP lens and the macro and depth sensors are both 5MP. Furthermore, the front camera is a 32MP shooter for selfies. Galaxy A33 has the same front camera. However, at the rear, it has a 48MP main lens instead of the 64MP main sensor on A53. The rest of the things remain the same on both phones.
Lastly, the Galaxy A53 and A33 have 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and WLAN. Moreover, you also have an option to expand storage via SD Card. Both phones will be available in up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configurations. Both devices will receive 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.
