Samsung will reportedly debut a new processor with its latest Galaxy A53 5G. This news comes from Ahmed Qwaider on Twitter. He reports that the new chipset will be Exynos 1280. Moreover, he also states that the new Exynos 1280 SoC will be a 5nm chipset. The Galaxy A53 will be launching in March.

The design of Galaxy A53 was leaked previously. However, those weren’t the official images. Roland Quandt leaked the official marketing material and specifications of the device. The specifications look promising. Here is what we know about the device so far;

Design

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G

Galaxy A53 will have almost the same design as the A52. The thickness of the device is roughly 8.1mm and it weighs 189g. This is a bit slimmer than the A52’s thickness. The camera bump extends from the back-plate itself which is made of plastic. Furthermore, the display will be a 6.5″ flat OLED panel with rounded corners. The frame is still made of plastic same as last year’s model. The volume rockers and the power button will be on the left side. While the USB-C port and speakers will be at the bottom. Moreover, there will be no headphone jack.

Expected Specifications

Previous reports stated that the A53 will most probably be using an Exynos 1200 SoC. The Exynos 1200 was also seen in a variant of Vivo’s X60 series. It provided great performance similar to top-end chipsets. However, the latest leaks suggest a new chipset, Exynos 1280, will be debuting with the A53 5G. Furthermore, the reports state that the display will be a 120Hz refresh rate panel. The Galaxy A53 will pack a 5000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. However, you may only get a 15W charging brick inside the retail box like last year. The phone will run on One UI 4 based on Android 12.

Moreover, leaks suggest that the quad-camera array at the back will be sporting a 64MP main sensor. It will have OIS enabled. In addition to the main sensor, the phone will also have an ultra-wide, macro, and depth sensor. The ultra-wide will be a 12MP lens and the macro and depth sensors will be 5MP. Furthermore, the front camera will be a 32MP shooter for selfies. Lastly, the Galaxy A53 will have 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5. x, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and WLAN. Moreover, you will also have an option to expand storage via SD Card.
