Infinix Zero 5G Launched – Mixed Feelings

Infinix just launched the new Infinix Zero 5G smartphone in Pakistan as well as internationally. The smartphone lies in the budget category and we have mixed feelings about this device. Here is everything about the Zero 5G.

Infinix Zero 5G

Specifications

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset. Along with that, we see 8GB RAM which can be increased to 11GB via Virtual RAM while 128GB of storage is available. The display is a 6.78″ FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. To power the device, we get to see a huge 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

Furthermore, coming to the camera. We see three sensors on the back of the device; the main 48MP, a 13MP 2x Telephoto, that by the way is advertised as the “30X zoom lens”. Finally, the third sensor is a 2MP Depth Sensor. Quad-LED, HDR and 4K recordings are available.

Look & Feel

The device resembles the design of the Oppo Find X3 series as the camera module kind of melts in the back of the smartphone. The phone is indeed very shiny and is a fingerprint magnet. It is made fully out of plastic, so it does not provide you with a premium feel at all but that’s what you expect from a budget device.

Price

The device starts at PKR 50,000 ($284)

Final Verdict – Zero or Hero

The Infinix Zero 5G is a good phone from many angles but still, it lacks some of the basics that really put the cherry on top. For once, the dimensity 900 isn’t the best choice for the smartphone. It sure does come with big numbers, but the quality isn’t there. Like the 5000mAh battery doesn’t last super long or the 48MP pictures don’t look too good. I think the optimisation on the software level isn’t quite there yet with Infinix. One more thing is that if you live in Pakistan, the 5G would be useless. For a mid-ranger, Infinix should have focused on performance and optimisations rather than using that 5G advertisement.

Now, if the above-mentioned things don’t bother you go with this device, but if you want the bang for the buck, you should probably check some other options too.
