The company was founded in 2010 in China. But it was not until recently that the company started reaching new heights. The company then became popular fairly quickly. They started to release devices in almost every price bracket and soon they went from being nothing to being known as the Apple of China. But, all of it wasn’t because of the success. Part of the title was because Xiaomi started off being heavily inspired by Apple. Their product design and software design were really similar to Apple.
After the ban of Huawei, Xiaomi went flying up the charts. and now, there is the news that Xiaomi Wars Apple?
Xiaomi – Apple War
Recently, the chairman of Xiaomi has gone on the Chinese social media site and announced a war against Apple. He says that the company will now specifically focus on the high-end element of the global smartphone market. Their goal now is to directly rival Apple. With this statement, the company’s founder Lei Jun has declared A War of Death and Life against Apple.
He said;
“[WE AIM TO] FULLY BENCHMARK AGAINST APPLE IN [TERMS OF] PRODUCT AND EXPERIENCE, AND BECOME CHINA’S BIGGEST HIGH-END BRAND IN THE NEXT THREE YEARS,” LEI ADDED. HE WENT ON TO DESCRIBE COMPETITION WITH APPLE IN THE HIGH-END SMARTPHONE SEGMENT AS “A WAR OF LIFE AND DEATH” THAT XIAOMI MUST OVERCOME.”
The last Chinese company to ever come close to rivalling Apple ended up being banned and then really vanished from the market, now Xiaomi wants to complete that race and come on face to face with Apple.
The Response Of Apple
Apple as always has given no response for the whole thing. They, as we all know love playing this game where they think they are the only smartphone company in the world. Nowhere has anyone belonging to Apple has replied, nor any signs of acknowledgement have been shown from that side.
How Does Xiaomi Plan To Win The War
Well, according to reports, Xiaomi has quite some plans. First of all, they have improved a lot from the past. They have really branched out, you can find a Xiaomi phone in almost any category. Another thing is that Xiaomi wants to improve their experience, so almost $16 Billion is going to be spent doing that.
Our Thoughts
The fact that Apple currently is the biggest smartphone brand in the world, with the most brand loyalty isn’t going to help Xiaomi. The customers trust Apple so much in terms of quality and security that iPhone users will hardly ever switch. Furthermore, it is to acknowledge that Apple’s ecosystem is also going really strong is really hard to break.
Xiaomi will really need to work hard and think of something unique to overcome their said rival. Xiaomi does have the advantage that their product line is massive and almost everyone can afford something. Some quality plus brand loyalty will really help them.
