Realme didn’t launch its highly anticipated Realme 9 5G in 2021. It was delayed apparently due to a global chip shortage. Realme launched two iterations of its numbered series in a year usually. Realme 8 series was released in March 2021. Its successor, the Realme 9 series was supposed to launch around July 2021 but the company announced that the Realme 9 series was being delayed until 2022.
We are nearing the official launch of this highly anticipated series by Realme. Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India has already begun to tease the Realme 9 Pro+. We shared the leaked specification of the Realme 9 Pro and Pro+ models previously. Now some details about the Realme 9 have also emerged. As per an FCC listing, Realme 9 will be quite similar to the Realme 8 5G.
What To Expect!
The FCC document reads, “Except the model name, and FCC ID number change, the EUT [equipment under testing] are electronically/ electrically identical to the original equipment and that the original test results continue to be representative of and applicable to it.” The document doesn’t reveal much about the specifications. However, it does hint towards Realme 9 to be similar to its predecessor.
If we reminisce what the Realme 8 was all about, we can predict what the Realme 9 would offer. The Realme 8 had a 6.5″ LCD 90Hz display. Moreover, the device featured a MediaTek Dimensity 710 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage could be expanded via an SD card. The 5000 mAh battery and 18W fast charging were also prominent features.
Furthermore, the device had a 48MP main lens with PDAF. The main sensor was accompanied by a 2MP monochrome and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it had a 16MP selfie snapper. The Realme 8 had 5G connectivity. Hence, we can expect it on Realme 9 as well. In addition, the Realme 8 also had dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
