Xiaomi has unveiled the 12 series officially at an event in China. Alongside the Xiaomi 12 series, MIUI 13 was also unveiled at the event. Almost all rumors and speculations turned out to be true. For larger displays and enhanced productivity, MIUI 13 for Pad was also unveiled.
MIUI 13
MIUI 13 takes direct inspiration from iOS. It has similar widgets and an almost identical notification shade. Xiaomi claims that they have worked hard to enhance security and privacy. Although, one can argue that MIUI 13 is nothing but copied from iOS. However, if the software experience is smooth and animations, security, and privacy are as good as iOS, there’s nothing wrong with it. I hope Xiaomi lives up to the claims they have made about their software.
Xiaomi 12
Xiaomi 12 specifications have been revealed officially. The display will be a 6.28″ 12-Bit OLED display. The phone has a Snapdragon 8Gen1. This will be paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Furthermore, Xiaomi 12 will pack a 4500 mAh battery in a small body. It will also support 67W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging as well. In addition, it will also support 10W reverse charging. Moreover, the triple-camera setup has a main 50MP sensor that will support OIS. The stereo speakers will be sounded by Harmon Kardon. Moreover, there will be 3 color options. The base variant is priced at CNY 3699.
Xiaomi 12 Pro
Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 2k LTPO 6.73″ 120Hz E5 OLED display. It will also run on the Snapdragon 8Gen1. It will come with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The Pro variant will run MIUI 13 based on Android 12 like its other siblings. 12 Pro will weigh 205g and will be 8.6mm thick. For the cameras, it will don a 50MP IMX707 main with 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP 2x telephoto. The front will be a 32M snapper. It will pack a 4600 mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging support. Further, it will also support 50W wireless and 10W reverse charging. The base 8+128 model starts at CNY 4699.
Xiaomi 12X
The 12X is very similar to the 12. It has identical specifications minus the wireless charging support and inferior processor. But, don’t get fooled. It will have the Snapdragon 870 instead of the 8Gen1 which is a more than capable processor. The base model is priced at CNY 3199.
