Samsung Galaxy S22 series is set to launch on the 8th of February, 2022. According to Jon Prosser, Samsung will announce its new flagship line-up on 8th February. While they will be made available to the public on the 18th of February. Samsung has failed to keep it’s upcoming flagship phones secret. All details including real-life images have been leaked.

A Pleasant Surprise For Fans

Earlier, a hands-on video of the dummies of the whole S22 line-up was leaked. Apart from confirming the previous leaks, they sparked another point of discussion. The S22 and S22+ dummy models were in a glossy finish rather than the matte finish on the S22 Ultra/Note. The initial reaction to these leaked videos was that they may be fake. Everyone thought that with a plastic back, Samsung can’t possibly give a glossy finish.Samsung S22 Series LeakedSamsung S22 Series Leaked

However, those dummies might be accurate in terms of the finish on the back. As Ice Universe, a reliable Twitter leaker has confirmed via tweet that the material on the back will be glass. So, Samsung might be taking the Apple route again by implementing glossy glass backs in the base models. This is a pleasant surprise in terms of premium materials returning to the S line-up. However, fans might be upset because of the fingerprint magnet glossy finish. It will be interesting to see how fans react to this change.

What To Expect!

Samsung will be going all-out with the Ultra model with the S Pen and the boxy design returning. Note fans will be surely looking forward to that one. The S22 and S22+ will also be coming with new form factors and improvements in the camera department. All three phones will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8Gen1 and the Exynos chipset depending on the region. They will run Android 12 out of the box with 3 years of promised OS upgrades. Let us know how do you feel about glossy glass backs making a return in the S line-up.
