Sony has designed a controller especially for playing mobile games. The patent was issued this week by the Japanese branch of SIE. The controller closely resembles a DualShock 4 controller but is cut in half. It, just as other smartphone controllers will hold the smartphone in between. The controller will connect to the smartphones via Bluetooth. Furthermore, the controller will have its own battery and rumbling motors. This game controller will work with a smartphone. Further specifications of the device remain unknown for now. According to the diagrams, the device seems to be heavily inspired by Nintendo’s Joy-Con controllers and even lets you connect to a bigger screen. However, this feature might only be available to owners of the PlayStation console
Sony Mobile Game controller is expected to have applications for IOS as well as android. It will also be used for cloud gaming and will have support for Apple Arcade Games. Sony is focusing on mobile gaming for now as appointed Nicola Sebastiani, the former head of Apple’s Arcade content, to lead the company.
