Apple’s much-rumoured, Apple AR headset is finally set to debut in late 2022. Leaks suggest that the headset will be so powerful that it will be having Mac-level computing power. It’s amazing to even read that. Here is everything about the headset.

According to a new research report from the well known Ming-Chi Kuo, the headset will use a higher-end processing chip which will be very similar to the new M1 chips. The higher-end chip will be for most of the computing, AR or VR while there will be another secondary lower-end chip that deals with other sensors and stuff.
The headset according to leaks will be a full device on its own. This means unlike some other VR headsets on the market, it won’t need a Mac, iPhone or any other kind of device to operate it. In addition to that, Kuo says that the device will be able to handle VR with ease and will use a pair of 4K Micro OLED displays from Sony, which require the computing horsepower of an M1-like chip.
“Apple’s AR headset requires a separate processor as the computing power of the sensor is significantly higher than that of the iPhone. For example, the AR headset requires at least 6-8 optical modules to simultaneously provide continuous video see-through AR services to users. In comparison, an iPhone requires up to 3 optical modules running simultaneously and does not require continuous computing”. -KUO
This AR headset will support the new wifi 6e system, as well as the iPhone 14, would. It means that there would be extremely low latency and fast connection. Apple is currently preparing many applications to launch with the headset. Even the LiDAR sensor on the iPhone will be useful when using the headset.
