The latest chipsets from both giants are not out yet, but that doesn’t stop the internet from leaking. Snapdragon will come out with the Snapdragon 898 and MediaTek with the Dimenstiy 2000. But which chipset has what to offer? Here is the comparison of both according to listing and leaks, Snapdragon 898 VS Dimensity 2000.
Snapdragon 898
The 898 will come with the mega core of 1 × 3.0GHz Arm Cortex-X2, the large cores will consist of 3 × 2.5GHz and 4 × 1.79GHz for the smaller ones. The GPU here is the Adreno 730.
Dimensity 2000
This is very similar to the Snapdragon 898 with the same core numbers of 1 × 3.0GHz Arm Cortex-X2. There are very few differences like the large cores are 3 × 2.85GHz and small ones measure at 4 × 1.8GHz. The bigger difference is the GPU, as Dimensity gets Mali-G710 MC10 GPU
Snapdragon 898 VS Dimensity 2000
From an eagle-eye perspective, Snapdragon 898 and Dimensity 2000 are very similar in terms of CPU design, both adopt a 4nm process and tri-cluster architecture, and both are equipped with 3.0GHz X2 mega-core as mentioned above. Here the large core and small core of Dimensity 2000 are slightly higher than Snapdragon 898, but from such a minor lead that we don’t think it would bother Snapdragon much. The biggest difference between the two is in the foundry, Qualcomm has Samsung, while MediaTek chose TSMC. Other than that the GPU might be a problem for Dimensity as it is weaker than Adreno. Qualcomm’s GPU performance has traditionally been at the top of Android, and this time is no exception.
So far, the specs on paper are not so different. But the real test will be once both launch and be used in different devices. Their AI and machine learning may make one surpass the other. So, what do you guys think? Which chipset do you prefer? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
