Lenovo wants to enter the portable gaming industry with their new Lenovo Legion Play handheld console plans. Reportedly they have been working on this console type device for quite a while now, that leaks and teasers have been dropped.

Lenovo Legion Play

Legion Play is a handheld android based gaming console from Lenovo. Images of this portable console were leaked on the Chinese tech giant’s own website which suggested the Legion Play branding. According to sources, the images of the console was spotted on GBA Temp by a user.

Design

From the looks of the device, it looks like any other handheld gaming device with minor changes. It looks very similar for example to the Steam Deck. However, it gets 2 joysticks placed on one side each with a D-pad on the left and X-Y-A-B Buttons on the right. The button layout is very similar to X-Box controllers. We also see some smaller buttons near the display which I assume would be related to the menu and pause/play. We also see 4 shoulder buttons, two on either side. The back of the console looks very sleek with Legion Play Branding. While the design may change at the official launch of the product, this is what we have for now.

Software

Now, sources state that this device will use android for gaming. By images, it appears to have a custom skin on the console. Applications like the PlayStore, YouTube, Music, Browser and Nvidia GeForce Now. Also on the upper right corner, we can observe Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, & sim card signal strength indication which can mean that this will support a sim card for mobile data maybe.

Specifications

According to some leaks, the specifications will be as follows;

This stars a 7 inch 16:9 FHD bezel-less display, HDR 10, built-in controllers, dual speakers, dual vibration, and a 7,000mAh battery. We can expect at least 6GB ram and a good SoC but that is unknown for now.
