Some time back, Valve revealed their portable gaming machine to the world named the Vale Steam Deck. This quickly became one of the most talked-about things in the gaming or tech market. Its great hardware and one of a kind ability to take your steam games library anywhere with you and actually have the ability to play it at decent performance shocked almost everyone.
It’s finally time that the Dev Kits of the Steam Decks are out and we will begin to receive benchmarks on various games. Here are the Valve Stem Deck Benchmarks on games like Cyberpunk 2077, DOTA 2, Tomb Raider, & Doom Eternal.
Valve Steam Deck Benchmarks
These are tested from a dev kit, so the performance may be different from the actual versions we receive.
DOTA 2
Although, Dota 2 isn’t the most demanding game. It is still a pretty well-known game, many gamers and streamers play it religiously so it had to be on the list. Dota 2 held great at 80 FPS MAX and around 47 FPS at the least. For me personally, this is great. A handheld console getting 80 FPS on high setting is more than enough, especially when we know the final version will be very optimised.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Now, Tomb Raider can be easy to run, or very demanding based on the setting we choose. On the Steam Deck, setting Shadow of the Tomb Raiders graphics to the highest quality resulting in a pretty steady 36 FPS. Again this is great. When lowered the quality a bit, the FPS was locked at 60 FPS and locking FPS at the highest quality gave a steady 30 FPS with no major stutter or lag.
Doom
Doom also gave very satisfying results. With the settings being Medium-High we got a steady 60 FPS result. Bumping the quality to the max brought the FPS down to 47 FPS.
Cyberpunk 2077
This was one of the most controversial games of the year. The experience was really buggy for some PC users. Comming on the Steam Deck. The game was giving 30 – 40 FPS on Highest setting and lowering them a bit, gave consistent 60 FPS.
Temperature
The Steam Deck’s temperature went as high as 43 degrees with 29 degrees around the grips.
Thoughts
Overall I was very impressed with the Benchmarks and performance of this Handheld console. It gives a steady 60 FPS on almost all games at medium/low settings. But, what do you guys think about the Valve Steam Deck Benchmarks? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
