DxOMark, a camera review agency, announced the camera score of both devices. Let’s start with the iPhone 13 Pro
iPhone 13 Pro DxOMark Review
iPhone 13 gets the 4th position from the top with a score of 137. The total score is coupled with an excellent photo score of 144, 76 for zoom and 119 for video. The phone has scored great marks in overall categories, it is very reliable, the bokeh, the colours, overall photo performance is very similar to the iPhone 12 Pro tested last year, but with improvements in several areas. Some pros given to the phone’s camera are accurate colour, good white balance and exposure, great detail, great autofocus tracking and more. While for the cons, a big one is the lens flare, other than that low zoom quality and loss of texture sometimes in low light.

Also announced along with the iPhone 13 mini are scores of 130 overall, 138 for photos, 55 for zoom, and 117 for video. The results are very similar to the pro, considering that both phones are from the same series, it isn’t surprising. The 13 mini comes at #11 just above the iPhone 12 Pro Max. According to DxOMark the iPhone 13 mini is very reliable and provides consistent results.
DxOMark quoted “The Photo score of 138 is outstanding for the class and among the best we have seen overall, thanks to reliable exposure, nice colours, and a consistently good autofocus system. Like on the previous iPhone we’re still seeing some luminance noise but the detail has been improved over previous generations and is good in bright light and under typical indoor conditions. The lack of a dedicated telephoto lens means the iPhone 13 mini can’t compete with the very best in the Zoom category but the ultra-wide camera delivers good image quality, resulting in a Zoom score of 55.”
The pros given to the 13 mini are nice lighting, accurate colours, great balance and good autofocus. The cons are again very same to the pro, like lens flare, not great zoom, losing texture and quality in low light video etc.
