After loads of rumours, Google has finally announced the Google Pixel 5a 5G. It seems that Google is going on the budget track with its A series which is quite similar to most other smartphone manufacturers. Let’s see what the Pixel 5a is all about.
Google Pixel 5a 5G
Specifications
The Google Pixel 5a comes with the Snapdragon 765 5G, with Titan M Security Chip, 6GB ram and 128GB storage. The device gets a 6.34-inch (2400 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ OLED HDR display. It’s all powered by a 4680mAh battery and 18w fast charging. The phone is IP67 rated.
Body
This time we see a metal unibody design with a soft finish compared to a polycarbonate body in the 4a. The Pixel 5a 5G comes only in Mostly Black colour with forest green undertones and an olive-coloured Power button, but the company sells a case in four different colours – Black Moss, Maybe Moon, Likely Lime and Partially Pink. Otherwise, the device looks almost identical to the 4a.
Camera
We see a dual-camera setup with a 12.2MP rear main, LED flash, OIS, and a secondary 16MP 107° Ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is 8MP with an 84° ultra-wide lens, f/2.0 aperture.
Features
Unfortunately, the device is not very feature-rich. We see dual-sim support, stereo speakers, a back-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Price
The Google Pixel 5a 5G is priced at $449 (PKR 73,000 approx.), and it is available to pre-order in the U.S. and Japan and will ship starting from August 26th.
