Samsung, in today’s unpacked, announced the launch of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Z Flip 3. Both foldables are Samsung’s top of the line folding flagships of 2021. Here is everything you need to know about the Z Flip 3.
Samsung Z Fold 3
The successor to the Z-Fold 2, the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Specifications
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, with 12GB ram and 256/512GB storage.
It gets a 7.6-inch inner AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a layer of ultra-thin glass for protection with increased flexibility, it is also 80% stronger, and it’s 29% brighter than the Z Fold 2’s display. The cover display uses a smaller 6.2-inch AMOLED panel which is also getting 120Hz and has the same properties as the inner panel. There’s a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass to protect it from daily wear and tear.
We see a 4500mAh battery and 25w fast charging. This phone also gets Stereo Speaks to enhance your multimedia experience.
Features
S-Pen
The Spen is here on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Making it the first-ever foldable digitizer display. The responsiveness of the S-Pen has been increased by 40%. There’s no Bluetooth or gesture functionality on the Z Fold 3’s S Pen, but you can get that on the newly announced S Pen Pro. However, the cover display doesn’t support S Pen input.
Water Resistance
The Z Fold 3 is now IPX8 water-resistant. which means it can be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes and come out of the ordeal without any damage
Other Features
Other features include a side fingerprint sensor mounted on the power button, stereo speakers, and two physical SIM slots in addition to an eSIM.
Camera
We see a triple 12MP camera system at the back. There’s a 12MP F1.8 main camera that features Dual Pixel autofocus and OIS The second sensor gets a 12MP F2.2 ultra-wide camera and finally a 12MP 2x F2.4 telephoto camera.
The selfie camera is a 4MP under-display type camera on the inner panel, the UPC camera has a fairly large pixel size of 2 microns to make up for the low resolution so it should offer respectable image quality. While a regular 10MP hole punch remains on the outer display.
Price
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be available for a price of $1799.99 (PKR 295,000) for the 12GB+256GB, and $1899.99 (PKR 311,000)for the 12GB+512GB variant.
Colour options will include Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver.
The Z Fold S Pen, is a separate purchase, will cost $49.99 (PKR 8000), while the S Pen Pro comes in at $99.99 (PKR 16000).
