Not only smartphones but Xiaomi also unveiled new software advancements in today’s event. Previous rumors were that Xiaomi will launch MIUI 13 together with Mi Mix 4. However, it turns out it was not polished enough and that led to a delay. However, Xiaomi instead launched a more polished version of MIUI 12.5 aka MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. The Chinese tech giant also introduced MIUI for Pad, which aims at optimizing the UI for tablets.
MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition: What’s new?
The Enhanced Edition fixes bugs and glitches which are found in MIUI 12.5. As you know, Xiaomi is highly criticized for the bugs and glitches found in MIUI. To fix it, Xiaomi has introduced this new version. Ironically, MIUI 12.5 is not even rolled out to all devices in the global region. Yet Xiaomi decided to launch a brand new version of the UI. Though, the new version does not offer features but optimizations.
Well, this update is promising for sure. It promises a fix to 160 system header problems and 224 system application problems found in the previous version of MIUI. It also optimizes the bottom framework to the top-most application layer. Below are the complete optimizations of MIUi 12.5 Enhanced Edition features.
1. Liquid Storage
A self-developed solution for optimizing storage mechanisms. Helps in retaining read and write performance over a long period of time.
2. Atomic Memory
A self-developed solution for optimizing memory management mechanism. Its goal is to increase the performance of holding applications in memory.
3. Focus Calculation
It is a self-developed solution for optimizing processor scheduling. The goal is to reduce CPU usage and power consumption.
4. Intelligent Balance
This optimization increases hardware performance as well as optimizes power consumption and seeks a balance between the two.
MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition First Batch
The stable version of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition will roll out to the following devices starting from August 13. The update is only announced for China as of now.

MIUI for Pad is optimized for tablets
Apart from MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, Xiaomi also announced MIUI for Pad. It is an optimized version of MIUi 12.5 for tablets. As you know, Xiaomi today launched Mi Pad 5 series, and it was a perfect opportunity to launch this today. The basic difference of MIUI for Pad is that it provides a full-screen mode for many applications together with an enhanced split-screen mode for tablets. For now, only 300+ mainstream applications are optimized. However, the target is to reach 2000 applications by the end of this year.
