The Pixel 4a series got a lot of attention thanks to its amazing mid-range camera and decent internals. If Pixel 5a comes with the leaked specifications, it is just getting better. The report comes from FrontPageTech, which is reliable and trusted for its tech leaks. According to the report, the Pixel 5a will have Snapdragon 765G. It will come with 6GB RAM and 4650mAh battery. Talking about the display, it will have a 6.4-inch screen. It is not mentioned if it will be IPS or OLED. But since Pixel 4a was OLED, there is no chance the new phone has an inferior display.
Now the biggest shocker is the camera. Apparently, the Pixel 5a will have the same sensors as the high-end Pixel 5. It means it will have a 12.2MP primary and a 16MP ultra-wide sensor. For a mid-range device, it should beat any other smartphone with its camera. Moreover, the device will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and IP67 for water and dust resistance.
It will miss some high-end features like under-display fingerprint, and wireless charging. The design of the device is also similar to previous Pixel smartphones. I can’t wait to see the Pixel 6a which hopefully will take design language from the upcoming Pixel 6 series. But still, the upcoming Pixel is as exciting. It comes with a better camera, chipset, bigger battery, and a great price. Though, there is only a single color option hinted as of now: Mostly Black!
Price and release date
The Pixel 5a will come at a price tag of $450. That’s insane. For comparison, the Pixel 4a 5G has a price of $499. So for $50 less, you will get a bigger battery and IP67 rating. But one thing which confuses me is why a new smartphone? I mean the Pixel 4a 5G is almost the same smartphone. Anyway, we will our answer soon. The Pixel 5a is expected to launch on August 26.
