Samsung Galaxy S22 chipset, camera, release date, and price

Samsung Galaxy S21 was not a major upgrade from the Galaxy S20 of last year. There were few tweaks here and there. Notable changes were in terms of Camera, Chipset, and Design. Exynos 2100 was a big upgrade over Exynos 990 but still, it fell behind the blazing-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. The camera was improved in terms of reliability & consistency. The design was an important change as the Galaxy S21’s design was a lot more strong & mature. Next year, with the Galaxy S22 lineup Samsung is planning to make big changes. As of now, we have got some major leaks for Samsung’s next year flagship lineup.

1.Exynos x AMD

Samsung and AMD collaboration for the next year’s Galaxy S22 lineup means a huge upgrade in Processing speed & Graphical processing. Samsung has been criticized a lot for its below-par performance in this segment but that is about to change with Radeon graphics for Galaxy S22. Samsung is planning to take its performance to the next level in order to give competition to Apple’s A15 Bionic Chip for this year’s iPhone 13. This means massive news for Smartphone gamers & content creators. With AMD RADEON we can expect console-level graphics inside the brand new Galaxy S22.

2. Camera Leaks

Galaxy S22 is rumored to have a humongous 200 megapixels sensor. With the computational photography, new Image signaling processor, and Radeon graphics inside, we can expect game-changing photography with Galaxy S22. Exynos 2200 is expected to be at least 40% faster than this year’s Exynos 2100. With so much power, there will be a much refined Imagine signaling processor (ISP). iPhone 12 has set the bar for the new generation of Smartphone photography. Pixel 6 Pro alongside the iPhone 13 can be a difficult challenge for Samsung to beat next year. We might also see an under-display camera in Galaxy S22.

3. Battery

As per the latest leaks, Samsung is testing 45W and 65W charging for Galaxy S22. This means a good charging speed with a battery capacity of around 4500 mAh. That must not be a problem for the Galaxy fans. 65W fast charging would be a jump from this year’s 25W.

4. Price and release date

Pricing is expected to remain the same for the next year’s model as well. If Samsung stays consistent with pricing, which is rumored then we can expect the base Galaxy S22 at $799, S22 plus at $999, and S22 ULTRA at $1199. This year Samsung lowered the price of all devices by $200 and that is expected to remain unchanged. Finally, we expect the Galaxy S22 to release sometime early next year. It will either be in late January 2022 or early February 2022.
